Kansas City Wedding | Jay & Sarah

Kansas City Wedding | The Carriage Club Reception | KC Trolley Cruise |

We were so honored to photograph Jay & Sarah’s wedding in Kansas City. We love being with her family (and have photographed the weddings of her sisters, Bailey and Holly) and consider them to be part of our extended family. You couldn’t ask for a more fun and gracious family.

The ceremony was held at the Curé de Ars on the Kansas side of KC. We loved the open, spacious chapel , however it was made special by the warm, welcoming attitude of Father Pat. We love it when the officiant tells us, “Stand where you want and don’t miss anything.” Exactly the kind of instructions photographers love to hear.

The getting-ready photos were exactly what you would expect when your four sisters are your bridesmaids. Especially when laughing is the main sport and past time of the family.

We wish we had an audio track of Sarah’s sister, Maggie, singing Ave Maria during the ceremony. Her charm and beauty are now equaled by her angelic voice. There probably wasn’t a dry eye in the church when she finished and it was hard for the entire congregation to NOT break into a thunderous applause.

It’s a Kansas City wedding and that can only mean one thing for after the ceremony: KC TROLLEY cruise!!!! We had a grand time cruising through the Plaza and down Ward Parkway (with a burger and pit stop at Burger King) laughing, singing, dancing and having a few adult beverages during  the ride.

The reception at The Carriage Club was the scene for an elegant and fun ending to a memorable day for our lovely DC-from-KC couple. In addition to being one of the funniest families we have worked with, this is also a family who dances! The floor filled after the first dances and stayed that way until the couple were ready for their sparkler exit at the stroke of midnight.
