Why Albuquerque?

Destination weddings in Albuquerque can choose among historic haciendas and inns. There are lots of things to do here: cycling paths along the Rio Grande, visit museums and galleries, enjoy the wide variety of restaurants near the University of New Mexico and in the different neighborhoods around the city.  There is a ski resort, hiking trails, and one of best makers of sparkling wine in the U.S., Gruet, who a great tasting room and patio.

When to Get Married in Albuquerque?

The city enjoys a mild climate, with summer evenings perfect for an outdoor wedding.Days can be a little warm in the summer, so I would plan outdoor weddings for later in the afternoon or in the summer or spring. There are a lot of outdoor activities ranging from golf, skiing, cycling or bird watching along the Rio Grande.

Check here for year around events.

The big event of the year, and a certain hit for a unique wedding activity is the International Balloon Festival, held every October. This is an amazing event and I’m sure some couples take the opportunity for a flight on their big day (or get married in the balloon?), but bear in mind that the city gets very busy during this annual festival. Not only do hotel rooms become scarce, but prices tend to rise. Because of the festival, hot air balloon rides are available during the spring, summer and fall.
