M & J Photography – Aspen Wedding Photographers

Thanks for stopping by our site while you are searching for Aspen Wedding Photographers.

M and J Photography is Michael and Jennifer Lewis, two award-winning photographers in love with photography and with each other. We photograph destination weddings anywhere a bride and groom want to get married. But we split our time between our homes in Mexico and the U.S.

Depending on our bookings, we live and work in the Riviera Maya of Mexico from November through June. From July through October, we split our time between SW Colorado and Santa Fe.

But, we have deep roots in Colorado. Aspen was Michael’s home for four years and the area’s beauty was the inspiration behind his decision to embark on a career in photography. He lived for a number of years in Denver and then Creede.  Jennifer graduated from CU and lived in Crested Butte and Creede, where we met. To us, Colorado will always be home.

Why Aspen?

Brides who choose Aspen for a destination wedding will have a wonderful selection of locations and good weather in the summer and fall. With world-class galleries and restaurants, there are plenty of activities to keep the guests busy. The famed Colorado mountain weather and the incredible beauty of Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley make Aspen an ideal place for a destination wedding. The natural locations is a long list: Maroon Bells, Snowmass Wilderness, Ashcroft, Aspen Mountain and the Aspen Highlands.

When to Get Married in Aspen?

As we said summer and fall are wonderful times of year, with moderate, dry temperatures during the day and cool, crisp nights. There are a variety of festivals throughout the summer that make certain times of the year special. Fly fishing and river rafting are better early in the summer. Hiking is good during both seasons, although you might run into a little snow on some trails in early June. Snow and winter lovers could choose a “white” wedding, but I would avoid the busy season around Christmas and New Years and President’s Weekend. March is one of the warmer winter months. The days are longer, the sun is stronger and you might be able to get married in summer clothes – on skis, of course!
